Today my current obsession has me looking into buying a frozen motor for a car I don’t own. At $100 I am thinking why not? I want to get a Bellett, LUV, and/or rwd I-Mark, so this may or may not ever be useful.

[I am picking up the engine on the 23rd. The wife says I am weird and cute.]

[The engine has been pulled from what is left from the truck. Now I am working on arranging to pick it up. I wonder if it will fit in the trunk of my car. I think the hatch of my dad's escape will work better. Does anyone know how much a 1.8l G180Z weigh?]

If they get back to me, I will see if I can pick it up on the 23rd.

Oh! That would be a fun project. I’ve kinda always wanted to build a running crate motor that didn’t have a car attached.

I am looking forward to it. It will be easier to deal with just an engine in my 1 car garage than an engine and car. Also, it will be a good step into getting the related vehicle and making it run.

If you can find a Chevy LUV that hasn’t turned in to a pile of red dust it will be a small miracle.

One can still find an okay number of them. They are easier to find than Isuzu I-M arks and Renault Dauphines. I am not sure if this will go into a LUV, Bellett, or a Locost yet.

Me too! So far it is just an engine rebuild starting in August. I don’t know if the engine will go into a LUV, Bellett, or Locost yet.

Whereabout are you located? That’s not all that far from me.

Should be a fun project. I don’t know much about these engines; how are parts availability?

I am near Pittsburgh. The engine is about an hour and a half from me. I can get a gasket set easily, but the rest of the parts I have not looked into yet.

These things are a cast iron block and aluminum head and where that combination received a  bad reputation. When you pull the head get a really nice, long straightedge and check the head well, they will warp.
